Bingen is located at the entrance to the UNESCO World Heritage site ""Oberes Mittelrheintal"" at the intersection of four regions and their wine growing areas: Rheinhessen, Nahe, Mittelrhein and Rheingau. Bingen is known among other things as the most important historical place of activity of the abbess Hildegard of Bingen and the story of the Mouse Tower. Because of its location on the banks of the Rhine and the many castles, the city is a tourist destination. The beautiful landscapes, recreation areas and public parks make Bingen interesting for tourists from Germany and abroad.
