The town of Ingelheim am Rhein is located in the district of Mainz-Bingen and was historically developed from the former county of Bingen. It is situated on the banks of the river Rhine as well as the Nahe river. Bingen has been the government seat of dukes and earls for centuries giving the city and its surrounding area a very historical look. Besides of that Ingelheim combines tradition, wine crowing and culture with modern living and working environments. Thanks to the cultivation and production of red wine, Ingelheim is also known as the "red wine town". Many farms and wineries provide the best for their guests.
