Budenheim is located in the district of Mainz-Bingen and is an association-free municipality, so is not a real city. With more than 8000 residents, Budenheim is the largest municipality in the region. As a recognized tourism region, Budenheim is characterized by tourism. Beautifully situated in the countryside, the village is particularly suitable for hikers and offers accordingly a lot of hotels and gastronomy. Budenheim is also geologically very well known. In the region many prehistoric finds of several million years were found including complete skeletons. Thanks to good transport connections via train and road, Budenheim is also popular as a place of residence.
