The district of Alzey-Worms with its district administration in the city of Alzey is located in the west of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Historically part of the Roman Empire and later part of France, the district was formed in its present form with its ten municipalities in 1969. Scenic hilly, the area is characterized by green spaces and forests. Within the district, many regions are active and well-known in the wine production, whereby the tourism and the agriculture including wine growing play a very important role.
