The district of Dingolfing-Landau with its 16 towns and municipalities is geographically located in the middle of the region of Lower Bavaria. The primarily forest and agriculture landscape is crossed by the River Isar and three arms of the Danube River. The economy in the region is also agriculturally significant, but some industrial companies, including the carmaker BMW, have settled here, as the district is conveniently located by water, rail and road transport.
