The city of Borken, which was founded in 1226, is located in the Westfälische Bucht region of North Rhine-Westphalia. It consists of 10 districts and is crossed by the rivers Borkener and Borkener Aa. In keeping with the early founding of the city, here are some castles, small castles and other historic buildings. In recent history, especially the emergence of the first new military settlement after the Second World War in Borken worth mentioning. Today Borken is dominated by urban housing and mostly local economics.
