Bremen (and the neighbouring city of Bremerhaven) are mainly characterized by the international port. Because of that the economical focus is on foreign trade and shipbuilding but also many food companies are situated here because of commodity supply. The river Weser that flows through Bremen is one of the most traversed rivers of Germany next to the Rhine. The cityscape and the sights are mainly dominated by merchants and maritime economy. In addition to the Bremen Town Musicians the Roland, a 10 -meter-high figure in front of the Bremen Town Hall is a landmark of the city.
