The district town of Nossen is situated in Meissen county, and is located in the hilly foothills of the Ore Mountains and between the cities of Dresden and Chemnitz. Especially the proximity to the Ore Mountains with its natural forests characterize the surrounding areas. The motorway junction „Nossen“ contributed to the prominence and relevance of the city and has helped industrial parks and several companies locating in the area.
