The municipality of Ilsede in the county of Peine is a federation of originally eleven towns and villages. In the middle of the "Braunschweig-Hildesheimer Lößbörde" with excellent soil is the reason for mostly agricultural usage. The landscape is considered to be very typical for the entire region. Historically significant is the archaeologically protected burial ground, dated to around 1000 BC, which is part of the cultural monuments in the county of Peine.
