The community of Hohenhameln is a federation of eleven independent communities, which were independent until the 1970s, in the district of Peine. The original name "Hohe Hecken" reveals much about the still typical landscape of large green and landscape surfaces, which are separated from one another by high hedges. These are often traversed by very large forests, which also make the woodworking industry one of the largest employers of the community.
