The municipality of Seevetal is a living and likable community, situated in the heart of the Harburg district between the Elbe and the Seeve. The rural structure of the 19 districts -which is the most populous municipality by area in Germany - makes it attractive as well as the central location in the metropolitan region of Hamburg. The good connection to the port of Hamburg and the southern hub at Europe's largest marshalling yard in Maschen is also interesting as a business location for companies. The village character is underlined by the numerous associations, leisure offers and festivals in the municipality. Worth seeing in Seevetal are the historic churches in Hittfeld and Ramelsloh, the picturesque mills at the Lower Saxony Mühlenstraße in Horst, Karoxbostel and Hittfeld. Also worth a visit is the nature reserve "Untere Seeveniederung", where the rare chessboard flower blooms can be seen in spring.
