The town of Frankenberg is located in the district of Mittelsachsen directly on the banks of the river "Zschopau" in the foothills of the Erzgebirge mountains. It is mentioned historically for the first time around 1200 AD. Historically Frankenberg is well-known for the historic cigar and automobile manufacture, whose history is nowadays also of tourist interest. Due to its role in the two world wars Döbeln also offers many monuments and memorials. Thanks to its proximity to Dresden and Chemnitz, there are many residential settlements in Döbeln, including mostly local businesses.
