Federal states > Rhineland-Palatinate

Geography: Rhineland-Palatinate is located in southwest Germany, bordering France, Luxembourg and Belgium. The capital is Mainz. Around 42 % of the territory is covered by forests and some very large rivers such as the Rhine and the Mosel cross it.

Culture: Rhineland-Palatinate is mainly known for its many well maintained buildings, especially in Trier and Maniz, which are attributable to the Romans. Also the many castles and palaces are worth a visit.

Economics: An important export product of the state is the wine from the Pfalz, Moselle and Rheinhessen. Other relevant sectors are mainly the chemical and pharmaceutical industries as well as automotive and mechanical engineering.
