Geography: Schleswig-Holstein is the northernmost state of Germany. The state capital is Kiel. The region is surrounded by North and East sea and borders in the north to Denmark.

Culture: The culture in this state is characterized by the Danish and Frisian influences that can be seen especially in architecture. In July and August each year, the largest classical music festivals in Europe takes place with more than 100,000 visitors.

Economy: Agriculture accounts for a large share of the economy in Schleswig - Holstein but the proximity to the sea also creates many jobs in logistics and maritime trade. In Kiel, there is also the largest German shipyard.
