Geography: The state is located in north eastern Germany and large parts bordering the Baltic Sea and Poland. The state capital is Schwerin. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is known for its rich nature with many nature reserves.

Culture: History fans will find more than 2.000 palaces and castles. In summer, a festival of classical music is held every year, which attracts many visitors.

Economy: Because of the proximity to the Baltic Sea in particular the maritime industry, mechanical engineering and the food industry determine the country's economy but energy technology plays an important as well.
