Geography: Hamburg is a city state and Hanseatic City. It is completely surrounded by the North German state of Schleswig-Holstein. Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany. The Port of Hamburg is the largest seaport in Germany and one of the largest worldwide.

Culture: The cityscape is characterized by many small canals, bridges and proximity to the sea. The region is one of the most atractive tourist destinations in Germany. Particularly well known is the Hafen City with the Elbe Philharmonic Hall and the Reeperbahn. Due to its size Hamburg has a high proportion of residents of different origin countries that have a great impact on the cityscape. That is why you can find a "Portuguese quarter" near the port. Hamburg also offers a wide range of culture and events. After New York and London the city is the world's third biggest musical location.

Economy: The Port of Hamburg is one of the world's most important seaport. Therefore, the most important economic sectors in Hamburg is logistics and maritime industries but also food production and mechanical engineering as well as vehicle and shipbuilding play a crucial role.
