Geography: Hessen is one of the most densely populated and economically strongest regions in Germany. The state capital is Wiesbaden but the largest city is Franfurt am Main. The landscape is dominated by mountain ranges and forests cover about 42% of the land area.

Culture: Hessen is home to the famous children's book authors Brothers Grimm. They are the inventors of famous stories like Rapunzel or Cinderella. The Romans were once in Hessen and today you can admire parts of the 550km long boundary wall Limes.

Economy: The Rhein-Main-area has a very high industrial density. The state is a leader in the fields of chemical and pharmaceutical industry and some well-known carmakers have their headquarters here. Frankfurt is very important for the financial sector, because this is where the European Central Bank and the German Bundesbank are. In addition, the city is also a major transportation point, as it is where one of the ten biggest airports of the world is located.
